When is the next submission DEADLINE?2008 edition submissions are now closed! 2009 Edition submissions will open in September 2008 When is the next festival?BiFF's 12th edition is scheduled to run for ten days in June 2009. Can I release my film theatrically or on broadcast television before the Festival?Entries shall not have theatrical release or be broadcast anywhere in the U.S.A. before the last day of the festival. Previous festivals, cast&crew, and private screenings are OK. Does the festival project digital films? If so, in which formats?The projects selected for the Festival, if not available on 35mm film, will be projected in HD-Cam, DigiBeta, Beta, DV-Cam and MiniDV formats (NTSC & PAL). Due to technical constraints, BiFF no longer accepts 16mm as screening copy format. How many films do you accept in the festival?We estimate that the next festival line-up will include about 150 films. How many submissions do you receive every year?For the past few editions the festival received about 2000 submissions. A live counter of the submissions received so far for the current edition is available at + statistics I submitted my film last year but it was not selected. Can I resubmit my film?To resubmit a film, the film must be significantly re-edited. A film may be resubmitted more than once if it has been worked on in the last year. In which film categories do you accept submissions? Categories: Feature Narrative, Short Narrative, Experimental, Documentary, Animation. + rules Is the festival competitive? Through the resources of industry-related sponsors, the festival awards the winners with a total of approximately US $80,000 in film services and cash. + awards Screening Format for selected films: If your film is selected, the Brooklyn International Film Festival will accept screening copies in the following formats: Film: 35mm - Video: HD-cam, Digi-Beta, Beta, MiniDV.
